How to check what plugins a WordPress website is using

Are you curious to find which all WordPress plugins a website is using? This article will help you to get the right information.

It’s just a little harder when it comes to finding out what plugins a WordPress website using and in some cases you won’t be able to list all the plugins used in a easy way. You might have to take one of the following actions:

  1. Via sources tab in your browser
    1. Right-click anywhere on the page and select “Inspect” to get the source code of that page
    2. Navigate to the Sources tab to get the structure of the target website
    3. Click the arrow next to the wp-content folder
    4. If that’s the case, click the arrow next to plugins folder
  2. Look for Class name and IDs with specific elements
    1. Right-click on a specific element of the page you like & select “inspect” to get the source code of that page
    2. Look for ID= or Class= and focus on what is coming after ID or Class
    3. Google them to find out the plugin that is enabling that functionality
  3. Via HTML comments
    1. Right-click on a specific element of the page you like & select “inspect” to get the source code of that page
    2. Look for the green lines of code, i.e. HTML comments
    3. You’ll likely find the plugin name.
